on Ubuntu.
What is zookeeper-bin
zookeeper-bin is:
ZooKeeper is a centralized, reliable, service for maintaining configuration information, naming, providing distributed synchronization, and group services. All of these kinds of services are used in some form or another by distributed applications.
This package contains additional zookeeper command line utilities using the C binding. See the “zookeeper” package for command line utilities using the java binding.
There are three methods to install zookeeper-bin
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install zookeeper-bin Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install zookeeper-bin
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install zookeeper-bin
Install zookeeper-bin Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install zookeeper-bin
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install zookeeper-bin
Install zookeeper-bin Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install zookeeper-bin
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install zookeeper-bin
How To Uninstall zookeeper-bin on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the zookeeper-bin
