In this tutorial we learn how to install znc-push
on Ubuntu.
What is znc-push
znc-push is:
ZNC Push is a third party ZNC module that will send notifications to multiple push notification services, or SMS for any private message or channel highlight that matches a configurable set of conditions.
ZNC Push current supports the following services:
- Boxcar
- Boxcar 2
- Pushover
- Pushsafer
- Prowl
- Supertoasty
- PushBullet
- Airgram
- Faast
- Nexmo
- Pushalot
- Pushjet
- Telegram
- Custom URL GET requests

There are three methods to install znc-push
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install znc-push Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install znc-push
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install znc-push

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install znc-push
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install znc-push
Install znc-push Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install znc-push
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install znc-push
How To Uninstall znc-push on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the znc-push
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove znc-push

To uninstall znc-push
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove znc-push
Remove znc-push Configurations and Data
To remove znc-push
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge znc-push
