How To Install zbd-utils on Ubuntu

Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install zbd-utils on Ubuntu.
What is zbd-utils
zbd-utils is:
zbd is a command line utility to report, open, close, reset and finish zones of a device.
gzbd is similar to zbd but using a graphical user interface.
gzbd-viewer is a graphical user interface showing the condition and state of zones of a zoned block device.
There are three methods to install zbd-utils on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install zbd-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install zbd-utils using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install zbd-utils
Install zbd-utils Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install zbd-utils using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install zbd-utils
Install zbd-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install zbd-utils using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install zbd-utils
How To Uninstall zbd-utils on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the zbd-utils package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove zbd-utils
Uninstall zbd-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall zbd-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove zbd-utils
Remove zbd-utils Configurations and Data
To remove zbd-utils configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge zbd-utils
