In this tutorial we learn how to install zabbix-frontend-php on Ubuntu.

What is `zabbix-frontend-php`

zabbix-frontend-php is:

Zabbix is a server/client network monitoring system with many features. It can be used for:

high level monitoring of IT services;
centralized monitoring of your servers and applications;
monitoring of SNMP-enabled devices;
performance monitoring (process load, network activity, disk activity, memory usage, OS parameters etc.);
data visualization.

This package provides a web-browsable front-end to the Zabbix server, which can display graphs of the data collected from clients.

There are three methods to install zabbix-frontend-php on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install zabbix-frontend-php Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install zabbix-frontend-php using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install zabbix-frontend-php

How To Uninstall zabbix-frontend-php on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the zabbix-frontend-php package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove zabbix-frontend-php

To uninstall zabbix-frontend-php and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
