Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install yodl-doc
on Ubuntu.
What is yodl-doc
yodl-doc is:
Yodl is a package that implements a pre-document language and tools to process it. The idea of Yodl is that you write up a document in a pre-language, then use the tools (e.g. yodl2html) to convert it to some final document language. Current converters are for HTML, man, LaTeX SGML and texinfo, a poor-man’s text converter and an experimental xml converter. Main document types are “article”, “report”, “book”, “manpage” and “letter”. The Yodl document language was designed to be easy to use and extensible.
This package provides the supplemental documentation for Yodl.
There are three methods to install yodl-doc
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install yodl-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install yodl-doc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install yodl-doc
Install yodl-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install yodl-doc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install yodl-doc
Install yodl-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install yodl-doc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install yodl-doc
How To Uninstall yodl-doc on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the yodl-doc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove yodl-doc
Uninstall yodl-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall yodl-doc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove yodl-doc
Remove yodl-doc Configurations and Data
To remove yodl-doc
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge yodl-doc
Remove yodl-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove yodl-doc
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge yodl-doc
