What is xvkbd
xvkbd is:
xvkbd is a virtual (graphical) keyboard program for X Window System which provides facility to enter characters onto other clients (software) by clicking on a keyboard displayed on the screen. This may be used for systems without a hardware keyboard such as kiosk terminals or handheld devices. This program also has facility to send characters specified as the command line option to another client.
There are three methods to install xvkbd on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xvkbd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xvkbd using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xvkbd

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install xvkbd using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xvkbd
Install xvkbd Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
