What is xtide-data-nonfree
xtide-data-nonfree is:
XTide is a package that provides tide and current predictions in a wide variety of formats. Graphs, text listings, and calendars can be generated, or a tide clock can be provided on your desktop.
This package provides extra harmonic station data for the xtide package. XTide works fine without them using the (free) xtide-data package which provides harmonics data for the US, but this package adds non-free data for Canada, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK.
This package is non-free because commercial distribution of the data is not allowed.
There are three methods to install xtide-data-nonfree on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xtide-data-nonfree Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xtide-data-nonfree using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xtide-data-nonfree

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install xtide-data-nonfree using apt by running the following command:

Install xtide-data-nonfree Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install xtide-data-nonfree using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xtide-data-nonfree
