What is xtermcontrol
xtermcontrol is:
xtermcontrol is an utility to dynamically query and modify xterm properties, making it easy to query and change colors, title, font and geometry of a running xterm. Window manipulations such as de-/iconify, raise/lower, maximize/restore and reset are also supported.
xtermcontrol also lets advanced users issue any xterm control sequence.
There are three methods to install xtermcontrol
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xtermcontrol Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xtermcontrol
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xtermcontrol

using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install xtermcontrol

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
