In this tutorial we learn how to install xsane-common
on Ubuntu.
What is xsane-common
xsane-common is:
xsane can be run as a stand-alone program or through the GIMP image manipulation program. In stand-alone mode, xsane can save an image to a file in a variety of image formats, serve as a frontend to a fax program, or send an image to a printer.
This package contains architecture-independent files needed by xsane (locales, help).
There are three methods to install xsane-common
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xsane-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xsane-common
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xsane-common
