Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xmountains
on Ubuntu.
What is xmountains
xmountains is:
Generates random fractal mountains and displays them in a window (even in the X root window).
While the program is running the fractal is continuously extended on the right and the image is scrolled from right to left to expose the newly generated area.
There are three methods to install xmountains
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xmountains Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xmountains
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xmountains
