Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xfractint
on Ubuntu.
What is xfractint
xfractint is:
Generate Mandelbrot, Julia, IFS, and many more fractals in 2D and 3D, including those you design yourself. Version 19 now supports arbitrary precision which allows zooming to a depth of 10^1600, as well as generation of random dot stereograms.
There are three methods to install xfractint
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xfractint Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xfractint
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xfractint

After updating apt database, We can install xfractint
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xfractint
Install xfractint Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install xfractint
using aptitude

How To Uninstall xfractint on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the xfractint
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xfractint

sudo apt-get -y autoremove xfractint

configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
