What is xfce4-clipman
xfce4-clipman is:
Clipman enables you to store and recall X selections, as well as GTK+ clipboard content. You can also define actions to be triggered by selecting some text pattern.
This package uses Xfce libraries but can be used without the Xfce panel and only requires a system tray (notification area).
There are three methods to install xfce4-clipman
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xfce4-clipman Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xfce4-clipman
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xfce4-clipman
Install xfce4-clipman Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install xfce4-clipman
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xfce4-clipman
Install xfce4-clipman Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install xfce4-clipman
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xfce4-clipman
How To Uninstall xfce4-clipman on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the xfce4-clipman
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xfce4-clipman

To uninstall xfce4-clipman
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xfce4-clipman

configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xfce4-clipman
