xdg-desktop-portal-gtk is:
xdg-desktop-portal-gtk provides a GTK+/GNOME implementation for the desktop-agnostic xdg-desktop-portal service. This allows sandboxed applications to request services from outside the sandbox using GTK+ GUIs (app chooser, file chooser, print dialog) or using GNOME services (session manager, screenshot provider).
There are three methods to install xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
using aptitude

sudo apt-get -y purge xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
Remove xdg-desktop-portal-gtk configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
