Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xbubble on Ubuntu.
What is xbubble
xbubble is:
XBubble is a Puzzle Bubble / Bust-A-Move clone.
Your goal is to remove all the bubbles from the game board. To do this you must aim and shoot bubbles. When you manage to match 3 or more bubbles of the same color, they burst and disappear. All bubbles which hang free now, will fall down and disappear, too.
XBubble features single player mode, two player mode and player vs. computer (five difficulty levels of the AI) and has nice graphics, but no sound.
There are three methods to install xbubble on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xbubble Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xbubble using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xbubble
Install xbubble Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install xbubble using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xbubble
Install xbubble Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install xbubble using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xbubble
How To Uninstall xbubble on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the xbubble package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xbubble
Uninstall xbubble And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xbubble and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xbubble
Remove xbubble Configurations and Data
To remove xbubble configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xbubble
