xavs2 is an encoder for the AVS2-P2/IEEE1857.4 video codec.
Audio Video Coding Standard (AVS) is a standard for compression digital audio and digital, developed and widely used in China. The second generation AVS standard (AVS2) primarily targets Ultra HD (High Definition) video, with features comparable to MPEG H.265 (HEVC) and VC9.
This package provides the command-line tool xavs2.
There are three methods to install xavs2 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xavs2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xavs2 using apt-get by running the following command:
