In this tutorial we learn how to install x2gothinclient-chroot
on Ubuntu.
What is x2gothinclient-chroot
x2gothinclient-chroot is:
X2Go is a server based computing environment with - session resuming - low bandwidth support - session broker support - client-side mass storage mounting support - client-side printing support - audio support - authentication by smartcard and USB stick
x2gothinclient-chroot:
This metapackage installs all X2Go TCE dependencies. This package is used in the X2Go Thin Client’s chroot.
There are three methods to install x2gothinclient-chroot
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install x2gothinclient-chroot Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install x2gothinclient-chroot
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install x2gothinclient-chroot
Install x2gothinclient-chroot Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install x2gothinclient-chroot
using apt

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
