Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install x2goserver
on Ubuntu.
What is x2goserver
x2goserver is:
X2Go is a server based computing environment with
- session resuming
- low bandwidth support
- session brokerage support
- client-side mass storage mounting support
- client-side printing support
- audio support
- authentication by smartcard and USB stick
This package contains the main daemon and tools for X2Go server-side session administrations.
There are three methods to install x2goserver
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install x2goserver Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install x2goserver
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install x2goserver
Install x2goserver Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install x2goserver
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install x2goserver
Install x2goserver Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install x2goserver
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install x2goserver
How To Uninstall x2goserver on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the x2goserver
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove x2goserver

To uninstall x2goserver
