In this tutorial we learn how to install x2gobroker on Ubuntu.
What is x2gobroker
x2gobroker is:
X2Go is a server based computing environment with - session resuming - low bandwidth support - session brokerage support - client side mass storage mounting support - client side printing support - audio support - authentication by smartcard and USB stick
The session broker is a server tool for X2Go that tells your X2Go Client application in a terminal server cluster what servers and session types are most appropriate for the user in front of the X2Go terminal.
A session broker is most useful in load balanced X2Go server farms.
This package contains the x2gobroker executable.
There are three methods to install x2gobroker on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install x2gobroker Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install x2gobroker using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install x2gobroker
Install x2gobroker Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install x2gobroker using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install x2gobroker
Install x2gobroker Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install x2gobroker using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install x2gobroker

To uninstall only the x2gobroker package we can use the following command:
