Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install wsjtx-doc on Ubuntu.
What is wsjtx-doc
wsjtx-doc is:
WSJT-X implements amateur radio communication protocols or “modes” called FT4, FT8, JT4, JT9, JT65, QRA64, ISCAT, MSK144, and WSPR, as well as one called Echo for detecting and measuring your own radio signals reflected from the Moon. These modes were all designed for making reliable, confirmed QSOs under extreme weak-signal conditions.

There are three methods to install wsjtx-doc on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install wsjtx-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install wsjtx-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install wsjtx-doc
Install wsjtx-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install wsjtx-doc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install wsjtx-doc
Install wsjtx-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install wsjtx-doc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install wsjtx-doc
How To Uninstall wsjtx-doc on Ubuntu
