In this tutorial we learn how to install writeboost
on Ubuntu.
What is writeboost
writeboost is:
Writeboost is a utility to activate dm-writeboost device mappings.
dm-writeboost is an OS-level IO controller that builds logs from in-coming writes (data and metadata) and then writes the logs sequentially similar to log-structured filesystem. As a further extension, dm-writeboost supports read-caching which also writes data sequentially.
There are three methods to install writeboost
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install writeboost Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install writeboost
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install writeboost

After updating apt database, We can install writeboost
