Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install wmifinfo on Ubuntu.

What is wmifinfo

wmifinfo is:

wmifinfo is a simple applet showing basic network info for all available interfaces. It shows IP address, netmask, gateway and MAC address in a similar way to ifconfig.

There are three methods to install wmifinfo on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install wmifinfo Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install wmifinfo using apt-get by running the following command:

To uninstall only the wmifinfo package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove wmifinfo

To uninstall wmifinfo and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove wmifinfo

Remove wmifinfo Configurations and Data

To remove wmifinfo configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge wmifinfo
