windows.el allows you to switch between window configurations in emacs, providing behaviour similar to virtual desktops that is common in several window managers. In addition, you can save window configurations to a file and restore them at a later time.
There are three methods to install windows-el on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install windows-el Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install windows-el using apt-get by running the following command:
