This package contains the graphics and levels for Widelands.
Widelands is a strategy game aiming for gameplay similar to Settlers II by BlueByte.
In this game, you start out on a small piece of land with nothing more than a few of useful resources. Using those, you can build yourself an empire with many thousands of inhabitants. On your way towards this goal, you will have to build up an economic infrastructure, explore the lands around you and face enemies who are trying to rule the world just like you do.
There are three methods to install widelands-data
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install widelands-data Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install widelands-data
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install widelands-data
Install widelands-data Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install widelands-data
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install widelands-data
Install widelands-data Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install widelands-data
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install widelands-data
How To Uninstall widelands-data on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the widelands-data
package we can use the following command:
