Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install weblint-perl
on Ubuntu.
What is weblint-perl
weblint-perl is:
weblint is a perl script which picks fluff off html pages, much in the same way traditional lint picks fluff off C programs.
The script is a complete rewrite of Neil Bowers’ original weblint script. It currently supports HTML 4.0 (and only HTML 4.0).
There are three methods to install weblint-perl
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install weblint-perl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install weblint-perl
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install weblint-perl
Install weblint-perl Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install weblint-perl
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install weblint-perl
Install weblint-perl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install weblint-perl
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install weblint-perl
How To Uninstall weblint-perl on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the weblint-perl
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove weblint-perl
Uninstall weblint-perl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall weblint-perl
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove weblint-perl
Remove weblint-perl Configurations and Data
To remove weblint-perl
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge weblint-perl
