What is webkit2gtk-driver
webkit2gtk-driver is:
WebKit is a web content engine, derived from KHTML and KJS from KDE, and used primarily in Apple’s Safari browser. It is made to be embedded in other applications, such as mail readers, or web browsers.
It is able to display content such as HTML, SVG, XML, and others. It also supports DOM, XMLHttpRequest, XSLT, CSS, JavaScript/ECMAScript and more.
WebKitGTK is a WebKit port designed to be used in GTK applications, and this build provides version 4.0 of the API.
This package provides the WebDriver service implementation for WebKitGTK.
There are three methods to install webkit2gtk-driver on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install webkit2gtk-driver Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install webkit2gtk-driver using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install webkit2gtk-driver
Install webkit2gtk-driver Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install webkit2gtk-driver using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install webkit2gtk-driver using aptitude by running the following command:
