In this tutorial we learn how to install voro++ on Ubuntu.
What is voro++
voro++ is:
Voro++ is a software library for carrying out three-dimensional computations of the Voronoi tessellation. A distinguishing feature of the Voro++ library is that it carries out cell-based calculations, computing the Voronoi cell for each particle individually. It is particularly well-suited for applications that rely on cell-based statistics, where features of Voronoi cells (eg. volume, centroid, number of faces) can be used to analyze a system of particles.
There are three methods to install voro++ on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install voro++ Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install voro++ using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install voro++

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install voro++ using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install voro++
Install voro++ Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install voro++ using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install voro++
How To Uninstall voro++ on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the voro++ package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove voro++

To uninstall voro++ and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove voro++
Remove voro++ Configurations and Data
To remove voro++ configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge voro++
Remove voro++ configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
