Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install uqm on Ubuntu.
What is uqm
uqm is:
You return to Earth with a vessel built from technology discovered from an ancient race called the Precursors only to find it enslaved. Gather allies from a wide variety of races, engage in space combat with various foes, and save the galaxy from the Ur-Quan!
The Ur-Quan Masters is derived from the classic game Star Control II. It includes both the adventure game described above and a fast-paced Super Melee.

There are three methods to install uqm on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install uqm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install uqm using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install uqm
Install uqm Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install uqm using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install uqm
Install uqm Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install uqm using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install uqm
How To Uninstall uqm on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the uqm package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove uqm
Uninstall uqm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall uqm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove uqm
Remove uqm Configurations and Data
To remove uqm configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge uqm
Remove uqm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove uqm configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge uqm
