What is ukui-desktop-environment-core

ukui-desktop-environment-core is:

The UKUI Desktop Environment is the continuation of MATE. It provides an intuitive and attractive desktop environment using traditional metaphors for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems.

UKUI is under active development to add support for new technologies while preserving a traditional desktop experience.

This package depends on a very basic set of programs that are necessary to start a UKUI desktop environment session. The set of programs includes the UKUI file manager (Peony), the UKUI control center and a limited set of other obligatory UKUI desktop components.

There are three methods to install ukui-desktop-environment-core on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ukui-desktop-environment-core Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ukui-desktop-environment-core using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ukui-desktop-environment-core

Install ukui-desktop-environment-core Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ukui-desktop-environment-core using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install ukui-desktop-environment-core

Install ukui-desktop-environment-core Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ukui-desktop-environment-core using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ukui-desktop-environment-core

How To Uninstall ukui-desktop-environment-core on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the ukui-desktop-environment-core package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ukui-desktop-environment-core

To uninstall ukui-desktop-environment-core and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

To remove ukui-desktop-environment-core configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge ukui-desktop-environment-core

Remove ukui-desktop-environment-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove ukui-desktop-environment-core configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ukui-desktop-environment-core
