What is uim-plugins
uim-plugins is:
Uim is an input method module library which supports various scripts and can act as a front end for a range of input methods, including Anthy, Canna, or SKK (for Japanese), Pinyin (for Chinese), Byeoru (for Korean), and M17n (for many other languages). Most of its functions are implemented in Scheme, so it’s very simple and flexible.
This package contains the plugin files for uim.
There are three methods to install uim-plugins on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install uim-plugins Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install uim-plugins using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install uim-plugins

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install uim-plugins using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install uim-plugins
Install uim-plugins Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install uim-plugins using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install uim-plugins
How To Uninstall uim-plugins on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the uim-plugins package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove uim-plugins

To uninstall uim-plugins and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove uim-plugins

To remove uim-plugins configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge uim-plugins
