What is u2f-server
u2f-server is:
Libu2f-server is a package for doing Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) server communication and has functionality for the Registration and Authentication operations. The package contains a C library, a command line tool, and documentation.
This is a command line tool to do registration and authentication with a U2F device.
There are three methods to install u2f-server on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install u2f-server Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install u2f-server using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install u2f-server
Install u2f-server Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install u2f-server using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install u2f-server
Install u2f-server Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install u2f-server using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install u2f-server
How To Uninstall u2f-server on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the u2f-server package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove u2f-server
Uninstall u2f-server And Its Dependencies
To uninstall u2f-server and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove u2f-server
Remove u2f-server Configurations and Data
To remove u2f-server configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge u2f-server
