In this tutorial we learn how to install turing on Ubuntu.

What is turing

turing is:

Turing is a free and cross-platform app whose main goal is to assist the learning of algorithms and programming languages by providing easy-to-use development tools to all.

It provides a lighter alternative to the well-known Algobox, which is the currently de-facto widely used solution.

It provides two work modes:

In both modes, the code can be debugged and executed step-by-step to facilitate the problem-solving side of development.

There are three methods to install turing on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install turing Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install turing using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install turing

Install turing Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install turing using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install turing

Install turing Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install turing using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install turing

How To Uninstall turing on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the turing package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove turing

Uninstall turing And Its Dependencies

To uninstall turing and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove turing

Remove turing Configurations and Data

To remove turing configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge turing

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge turing
