Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install tthsum on Ubuntu.
What is tthsum
tthsum is:
tthsum generates or checks TTH checksums (root of the THEX hash tree). The Merkle Hash Tree, invented by Ralph Merkle, is a hash construct that exhibits desirable properties for verifying the integrity of files and file subranges in an incremental or out-of-order fashion. tthsum uses the Tiger hash algorithm for both the internal and the leaf nodes.

There are three methods to install tthsum on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tthsum Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tthsum using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tthsum
