Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install tryton-proteus on Ubuntu.
What is tryton-proteus
tryton-proteus is:
Tryton is a high-level general purpose application platform. It is the base of a complete business solution as well as a comprehensive health and hospital information system (GNUHealth).
This package contains Proteus, a library to access a Tryton server as a client. This library can access Tryton’s models by connecting to a Tryton server via XML-RPC or by using trytond as a module.
There are three methods to install tryton-proteus on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tryton-proteus Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tryton-proteus using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tryton-proteus
Install tryton-proteus Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install tryton-proteus using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tryton-proteus
Install tryton-proteus Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install tryton-proteus using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tryton-proteus
How To Uninstall tryton-proteus on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the tryton-proteus package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tryton-proteus
Uninstall tryton-proteus And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tryton-proteus and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tryton-proteus
Remove tryton-proteus Configurations and Data
To remove tryton-proteus configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tryton-proteus
Remove tryton-proteus configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tryton-proteus configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tryton-proteus
