In this tutorial we learn how to install trustedqsl on Ubuntu.
What is trustedqsl
trustedqsl is:
Open source libraries and utilities to support using digital signatures for amateur radio QSL information.
A QSL is a confirmation of contact between two amateur radio stations. The ARRL Logbook of the World project is a database which collects data about contacts between amateur stations (QSOs). This package provides the ’tqsl’ program for maintaining your digital certificates for LoTW and signing and uploading QSO log files.
There are three methods to install trustedqsl on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install trustedqsl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install trustedqsl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install trustedqsl
Install trustedqsl Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install trustedqsl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install trustedqsl
Install trustedqsl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install trustedqsl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install trustedqsl
How To Uninstall trustedqsl on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the trustedqsl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove trustedqsl
Uninstall trustedqsl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall trustedqsl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove trustedqsl
Remove trustedqsl Configurations and Data
To remove trustedqsl configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge trustedqsl
