Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install toppler on Ubuntu.
What is toppler
toppler is:
Toppler is an almost complete reimplementation of the old game known as Tower Toppler or Nebulus.
The target of the game is to reach the target door of each of the 8 towers in currently 2 missions with this little green animal. This door is usually at the very top of the tower.
But finding the way by using elevators and walking through a maze of doors and platforms is not the only problem you have to solve. There are a bunch of other creatures living on the tower that will hinder you to reach your target by pushing you over the edge of the platforms.
There are three methods to install toppler on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install toppler Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install toppler using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install toppler
Install toppler Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install toppler using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install toppler
Install toppler Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install toppler using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install toppler
How To Uninstall toppler on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the toppler package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove toppler
Uninstall toppler And Its Dependencies
To uninstall toppler and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove toppler
Remove toppler Configurations and Data
To remove toppler configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge toppler
