What is tigervnc-viewer
tigervnc-viewer is:
VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It is, in essence, a remote display system that allows you to view a computing `desktop’ environment not only on the machine where it is running but from anywhere on the Internet and from a wide variety of machine architectures. For this purpose, it implements a client/server model.
This package provides a VNC client for X. With this you can connect to a VNC server and display its content. There are VNC servers available for other operating systems.
There are three methods to install tigervnc-viewer on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tigervnc-viewer Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tigervnc-viewer using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tigervnc-viewer

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install tigervnc-viewer using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tigervnc-viewer

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install tigervnc-viewer using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tigervnc-viewer
How To Uninstall tigervnc-viewer on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the tigervnc-viewer package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tigervnc-viewer

To uninstall tigervnc-viewer and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tigervnc-viewer
