What is tigervnc-tools
tigervnc-tools is:
VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It is, in essence, a remote display system that allows you to view a computing `desktop’ environment not only on the machine where it is running but from anywhere on the Internet and from a wide variety of machine architectures. For this purpose, it implements a client/server model.
This package provides the vncpasswd tool.
There are three methods to install tigervnc-tools on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tigervnc-tools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tigervnc-tools using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tigervnc-tools

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install tigervnc-tools using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tigervnc-tools

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install tigervnc-tools using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tigervnc-tools
How To Uninstall tigervnc-tools on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the tigervnc-tools package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tigervnc-tools

To uninstall tigervnc-tools and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tigervnc-tools

To remove tigervnc-tools configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tigervnc-tools
