Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install teseq on Ubuntu.
What is teseq
teseq is:
GNU Teseq is a tool for analyzing files that contain control characters and terminal control sequences. It is intended to be useful for diagnosing terminal emulators, and programs that make heavy use of terminal features (such as those based on the Curses library).
It is primarily targeted at individuals who possess a basic understanding of terminal control sequences, especially CSI sequences; however, by default Teseq will try to identify and describe the sequences that it encounters, and the behavior they might produce in a terminal.
There are three methods to install teseq on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install teseq Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install teseq using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install teseq
Install teseq Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install teseq using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install teseq
Install teseq Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install teseq using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install teseq
How To Uninstall teseq on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the teseq package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove teseq

To uninstall teseq and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove teseq
Remove teseq Configurations and Data
To remove teseq configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge teseq
