Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sysrepo on Ubuntu.
What is sysrepo
sysrepo is:
Applications can use sysrepo to store their configuration modeled by provided YANG model instead of using e.g. flat configuration files. Sysrepo will ensure data consistency of the data stored in the datastore and enforce data constraints defined by YANG model.
Sysrepo can be easily integrated with management agents such as NETCONF or RESTCONF servers, using the same client library API that applications use to access their configuration.
This package contains the tools to work with schemas and configuration.
There are three methods to install sysrepo on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sysrepo Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sysrepo using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sysrepo
Install sysrepo Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sysrepo using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sysrepo
Install sysrepo Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sysrepo using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sysrepo
How To Uninstall sysrepo on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the sysrepo package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sysrepo
Uninstall sysrepo And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sysrepo and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sysrepo
Remove sysrepo Configurations and Data
To remove sysrepo configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sysrepo
Remove sysrepo configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sysrepo configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge sysrepo
