What is ssake
ssake is:
The Short Sequence Assembly by K-mer search and 3′ read Extension (SSAKE) is a genomics application for aggressively assembling millions of short nucleotide sequences by progressively searching for perfect 3′-most k-mers using a DNA prefix tree. SSAKE is designed to help leverage the information from short sequences reads by stringently clustering them into contigs that can be used to characterize novel sequencing targets.
There are three methods to install ssake on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ssake Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ssake using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ssake
Install ssake Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ssake using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ssake
Install ssake Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ssake using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ssake
How To Uninstall ssake on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the ssake package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ssake
Uninstall ssake And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ssake and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ssake
Remove ssake Configurations and Data
To remove ssake configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ssake
