In this tutorial we learn how to install sreview-master on Ubuntu.
What is sreview-master
sreview-master is:
SReview is a video review and transcoding system. It allows users to review videos, and will then (after the review has finished) transcode them into archive-quality video files.
This package contains the components that should run on just one server. It is not useful without one or more machines also running the webinterface (in the sreview-web package) or the encoder (in the sreview-encoder package).
There are three methods to install sreview-master on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sreview-master Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sreview-master using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sreview-master
Install sreview-master Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sreview-master using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sreview-master
Install sreview-master Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sreview-master using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sreview-master
