What is spf-tools-python
spf-tools-python is:
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) related scripts and tools in Python. This package currently provides three scripts:
- pyspf: command line use of spf.py
- spfquery: Python implementation of spfquery (uses alternatives)
- pyspf-type99: Tool to convert SPF records of type TXT to type SPF
spfquery and pyspf-type99 are compatible with python3 For more information about SPF look at http://www.openspf.org/
There are three methods to install spf-tools-python on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install spf-tools-python Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install spf-tools-python using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install spf-tools-python

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install spf-tools-python using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install spf-tools-python
Install spf-tools-python Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install spf-tools-python using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install spf-tools-python
How To Uninstall spf-tools-python on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the spf-tools-python package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove spf-tools-python
