What is speex-doc
speex-doc is:
Speex is an audio codec especially designed for compressing voice at low bit-rates for applications such as voice over IP (VoIP). In some senses, it is meant to be complementary to the Vorbis codec which places a greater emphasis on high-quality music reproduction.

There are three methods to install speex-doc on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install speex-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install speex-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install speex-doc

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install speex-doc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install speex-doc
Install speex-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install speex-doc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install speex-doc
How To Uninstall speex-doc on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the speex-doc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove speex-doc
Uninstall speex-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall speex-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove speex-doc
Remove speex-doc Configurations and Data
To remove speex-doc configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge speex-doc
Remove speex-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove speex-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge speex-doc
