Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sooperlooper on Ubuntu.
What is sooperlooper
sooperlooper is:
SooperLooper is a live looping sampler capable of immediate loop recording, overdubbing, multiplying, reversing and more. It allows for multiple simultaneous multi-channel loops limited only by your computer’s available memory.
The application is a standalone JACK client with an engine controllable via OSC and MIDI. It also includes a GUI which communicates with the engine via OSC (even over a network) for user-friendly control on a desktop.
There are three methods to install sooperlooper on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sooperlooper Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sooperlooper using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sooperlooper
Install sooperlooper Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sooperlooper using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sooperlooper
Install sooperlooper Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sooperlooper using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sooperlooper
How To Uninstall sooperlooper on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the sooperlooper package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sooperlooper
Uninstall sooperlooper And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sooperlooper and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sooperlooper
Remove sooperlooper Configurations and Data
To remove sooperlooper configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sooperlooper
Remove sooperlooper configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sooperlooper configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
