In this tutorial we learn how to install solid-auth on Ubuntu.

What is `solid-auth`

solid-auth is:

solid_auth is a command-line tool to perform low-level tasks authenticated against a Solid Pod.

Solid is a specification that lets people store their data securely in decentralized data stores called Pods. Pods are like secure personal web servers for data. When data is stored in someone’s Pod, they control which people and applications can access it.

There are three methods to install solid-auth on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install solid-auth Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install solid-auth using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install solid-auth

Install solid-auth Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install solid-auth using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install solid-auth

Install solid-auth Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install solid-auth using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install solid-auth

How To Uninstall solid-auth on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the solid-auth package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove solid-auth

Uninstall solid-auth And Its Dependencies

To uninstall solid-auth and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove solid-auth

Remove solid-auth Configurations and Data

To remove solid-auth configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge solid-auth

Remove solid-auth configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove solid-auth configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
