What is solfege
solfege is:
GNU Solfege is an ear training program for X Windows written in Python, using the GTK+ 3.0 libraries. You can practice harmonic and melodic intervals, chords, scales and rhythms, and you can add new exercises using a simple plain text file format.
Ear training is a big subject with many connections to music theory and performance of music.
To use this software, you need some basic knowledge about music theory.
There are three methods to install solfege on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install solfege Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install solfege using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install solfege
Install solfege Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install solfege using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install solfege
Install solfege Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

Remove solfege Configurations and Data
To remove solfege configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge solfege
