Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sng on Ubuntu.
What is sng
sng is:
SNG (Scriptable Network Graphics) is a minilanguage designed specifically to represent the entire contents of a PNG (Portable Network Graphics) file in an editable form. Thus, SNGs representing elaborate graphics images and ancillary chunk data can be readily generated or modified using only text tools.
SNG is implemented by a compiler/decompiler called sng that losslessly translates between SNG and PNG.
There are three methods to install sng on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sng Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sng using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sng
Install sng Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sng using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sng
Install sng Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sng using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sng
How To Uninstall sng on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the sng package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sng
Uninstall sng And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sng and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sng
Remove sng Configurations and Data
To remove sng configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sng
