In this tutorial we learn how to install snd-common on Ubuntu.
What is snd-common
snd-common is:
Snd is a powerful sound file editor that can be customized and extended using the Scheme programming language.
This package contains the basic infrastructure for the snd packages and the scheme files. You have to install a GUI package as well to actually use snd.
There are three methods to install snd-common on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install snd-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install snd-common using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install snd-common

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install snd-common using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install snd-common
Install snd-common Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install snd-common using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install snd-common
How To Uninstall snd-common on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the snd-common package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove snd-common

To remove snd-common configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
