What is slepc64-dev
slepc64-dev is:
SLEPc is a software library for the solution of large scale sparse eigenvalue problems on parallel computers. It is an extension of PETSc and can be used for either standard or generalized eigenproblems, with real or complex arithmetic. It can also be used for computing a partial SVD of a large, sparse, rectangular matrix.
This is a dependency package which depends on the latest version of SLEPc with 64-bit indexing.
There are three methods to install slepc64-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install slepc64-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install slepc64-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install slepc64-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install slepc64-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install slepc64-dev
Install slepc64-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install slepc64-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install slepc64-dev
