Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sketch-doc on Ubuntu.
What is sketch-doc
sketch-doc is:
Sketch is a simple system for producing line drawings of three-dimensional objects and scenes. Sketch is intended to produce finely wrought, mathematically-based illustrations with no extraneous detail and be able to easily overlay TeX math and text. The input language is reminiscent of PSTricks, so will be easy to learn for current PSTricks users. It generates either PSTricks or TikZ/PGF code as output.
This package includes HTML and PDF versions of the user manual (an info version of the manual is part of the sketch package). Also includes some example input files.
There are three methods to install sketch-doc on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sketch-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sketch-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sketch-doc
Install sketch-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sketch-doc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sketch-doc
Install sketch-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sketch-doc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sketch-doc
How To Uninstall sketch-doc on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the sketch-doc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sketch-doc
Uninstall sketch-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sketch-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sketch-doc
Remove sketch-doc Configurations and Data
To remove sketch-doc configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sketch-doc
Remove sketch-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sketch-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge sketch-doc
